Living a life inspired by art.

About Patrice

P Drago, Head Shot June 2019 copy.jpg

Patrice Drago is a prolific contemporary East Coast abstract artist.  Originally from New York, she has lived all up and down the coast from Maine to Florida., and currently resides in Annapolis, MD. She's been creating art in one form or another all her life.

Her artistic roots are in abstract expression; winning her first award at age nine, and at 14 she started painting abstractly on sheets hung from the ceiling with house paint and huge brushes. She pursued studies in all types of media, creating both abstract and representational works while also working diligently to perfect her other passion of writing. Her corporate job of strategic instructional design provided the invaluable creative environment and opportunity to perfect both drawing and writing skills, enabling her to eventually exit the corporate world to switch careers and become a full-time artist.

She has worked to support the arts community through collaborative community art projects, board membership and participation with numerous local and regional non-profit organizations.  For more than a decade she has been blogging about art and is the author of the full page monthly Gallery column in the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland.  Her original artwork is exhibited in Maryland, Washington, DC, and Delaware, and her paintings have found homes all over the world in corporate and private collections.

"Like all artists, I am frequently asked what inspires me to paint. The answer is almost too simple: It is a joyful process! It also feeds my insatiable need for exploration and experimentation, and the possibilities are limitless. It is an exciting adventure and if I bring joy to others with the results, that is the best reward. Since I was very young, I have surrounded myself with art and objects that are beautiful and interesting, assembling vignettes that create visual expressions of different aspects of who I am. Whatever your space -  a teeny studio apartment or your dream home - I believe you deserve an environment that brings you joy; a space that speaks to you, with art that makes a statement that expresses who you are and what you love. If I can help you do that, then I am honored, because I want you to  'Love Your Space'. "
